What a telehealth platform costs a med spa
Aesthera is $997 to set up and $497 a month, with no surcharge per prescription. Year one is $6,961 and every year after is $5,964. Certification and payment processing are billed separately by the parties that provide them.
What does the platform cost?
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Setup, charged once | $997 |
| Platform fee, monthly | $497 |
| Surcharge per prescription | None |
Year one is $6,961: the setup plus twelve monthly fees. From year two only the monthly fee applies, so $5,964 a year.
Why is there no charge per prescription?
A per-order fee grows with the thing you are trying to grow. It also makes the cost of your best month your most expensive month, which is the wrong way round for a practice adding a program.
So the platform cost stays flat while your volume moves. The medication itself carries its own wholesale cost, and that sits with the pharmacy.
What is not included?
- Certification. Required before a processor will handle prescription charges, and billed by the certifying body rather than by us.
- Your own medical director where your state requires one. That is a separate arrangement with a physician.
- Payment processing fees on each transaction, set by your processor.
- Your marketing. Bringing patients to the program is the med spa's side.
What does the med spa keep?
The retail price and the margin on it. The med spa sets what a patient pays, and the platform charges for the layer underneath. A higher retail price does not increase the platform cost.
What is included in the setup?
The clinical pathway, the pharmacy path, the intake and consent flow, certification support and the payment application. These run in parallel rather than one at a time.
What changes the cost most?
The platform fee does not move with volume, so nothing about your patient numbers changes it. What sits outside it is the certification and the licensure work. Both scale with the number of states you sell into and the number of websites you operate.
Is there a minimum term?
Ask for the current term in writing before you commit. What matters more than the length is the notice period and what happens to your patient records if you leave.
What should I compare between platforms?
- Whether the fee is flat or charged per prescription.
- Who holds the payment account.
- Who owns the patient.
- Which states are covered on day one.
- What leaving costs.
Those five decide more about the economics than the headline rate does.
How do I get the numbers for my med spa?
Tell us the programs, the states and roughly how many patients you expect. The figures come back specific to that rather than as a published rate card, because certification and licensure scale with states rather than with the programs.
Where this fits
- What a white-label platform runsThe clinical, pharmacy and payment layer, and what the med spa keeps.
- Programs you can offerWeight management, testosterone, hair loss, HRT, peptides and skin.
Do I pay anything per prescription?
No. There is no per-order or per-prescription charge. The platform fee is flat, so your cost does not rise with your best month.
Is certification included?
No. Certification is required before a processor will handle prescription charges, and it is billed separately by the certifying body. We support the application.
Does the platform take a cut of the retail price?
No. The med spa keeps the retail margin. The platform charges for the clinical, pharmacy and payment layer underneath at a flat monthly fee.
What drives the cost up?
The number of states you sell into and the number of websites you operate. Patient volume does not change the monthly fee.
